ABBAK THE ENTERTAINER
By: Estanislao Albano Jr. Posted: 28-May-2013 / 3 weeks 9 hours ago
Although with neither kitten nor puppy to babysit these days, Abbak still draws visitors who have heard about her overflowing motherly instincts like this group last week. The two year-old monkey has been featured in the GMA 7 television network and the regional media for acting as a mother to puppies and kittens. The GMA stories are available in youtube. Just search “Unggoy sa Kalinga, nag-aalaga ng 3 tuta” and “Pagkakaibigan sa Gitna ng Pagkakaiba.” Abbak went through two serious events last month . First, it got ill and almost died and not long after that, it did not come home for three days after it separated from owner Heraldo Caddumlay during a trip. Abbak usually tags along with Caddumlay on his motorcycle and sometimes would stay behind but would always get home later. On the third day of its disappearance and after Caddumlay had already expressed his grief for the loss of the pet on his Facebook account, while riding his bike somewhere in Bulanao, he heard the familiar shriek. True enough, Abbak was in cage in the house he was passing by. Upon release, Abbak run to the motorcycle of Caddumlay silencing the claims of the person who had detained the monkey that he owns the pet. Abbak could distinguish the sound of Caddumlay’s motorcycle. The family of Caddumlay do not mind curious people coming to see Abbak in their home at Battikin Village, Bulanao, Tabuk City. The viewing and playing is for free but this photographer recommends visitors to bring bread and bananas for the monkey and the kids in the house.
