LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, (PIA) - - The Office of the Provincial Governor  has issued a directive for the mandatory compliance of Department of Interior and Local Government memorandum circular requiring all provincial officials, department heads, chiefs of offices and employees to accomplish their sworn Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth (SALN).

The DILG Memo  Circular No. 2012-116 issued by Secretary Jesse Robredo directs all  local government employees to make their sworn SALN accessible to the public and address their inquiries, should there be any. This is  to promote transparency in government service and helps abate corruption in the government.

The  directive stemmed from the recent developments in the country’s political landscape brought about by the impeachment process of then Chief Justice  Renato Corona.

'There is, therefore, the timely need to remind department officials and local elective officials that they should file their SALN religiously for the purposes of honest and accurate disclosure of their assets and liabilities, the memo  stated. (JDP/SCA- PIA CAR,Benguet)
