BAGUIO CITY - Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) chairperson Teresita Manzala announced  that the deadline of submission of application  for the Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) in PRC-Baguio Regional office is moved from July 15 to July 18  in view of  Presidential Proclamation no. 190 series of 2011, declaring July 15 as a Special Non-working day  in the Cordillera Administrative Region on the occasion of its 24th  foundation anniversary.

PRC-Baguio will still be accepting  examination application on Monday, July 18 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

As  July 13, PRC-Baguio has already processed 7,300 applications. The figure  already exceeded the  expected target of about 6,500 examinees  for the scheduled September 25, 2011 LET.

PRC-Baguio Regional Director Teofilo Gauis Sison Jr., in an earlier interview, bared that of the exams they are conducting here,  the teacher’s board exam  is second to the   nursing  board  exam with  highest  number of examinees.

Aside  from Cordillera, the PRC Baguio Regional Office  also services regions I,III and some nearby provinces in Region II.

Sison  said PRC Baguio  has  been posting  higher LET passing percentage rate in the past several years. In the April 2011 LET, PRC Baguio recorded a 24.29 percent passing rate  which is higher than the national passing rate of 20.67 percent. In April 2010,  it posted a 22.18 percent passing rate against the 19.15 percent at the national level and in September 2010,  it had  25.33 percent compared to the national rate of 22.52 percent.

Meanwhile, as part of the PRC’s thrust of bringing its services closer to the people, the Baguio Regional Office in coordination with the local government units, will conduct a Mobile Outreach Service in Alaminos, Pangasinan on July 29 and Laoag, Ilocos Norte on August 13.

Services that PRC will bring in to these areas include:  processing of application for December 2011 Nurses Licensure Examination and other licensure examinations; processing of renewal of ID/License; processing of initial registration of newly-passed examinees; issuance of Certifications of Good Standing; and releasing of unclaimed ID/License.

Professionals who may wish to claim their Professional ID Card and/or Board Certificate on the above schedules may e-mail PRC-Baguio at  or text 0921-969-3919 and/or 0917-961-2510 at least  three  or four  days before the scheduled date. *(JDP/LD-PIA CAR)
