DepEd Ifugao bares 2013 Ifugao Super Quiz Bee winners

LAGAWE, Ifugao,  (PIA)--The Schools Division of this province headed by Officer-In-Charge Felipe Ballitoc announced the results of the 2013 Division Super Quiz Bee held  earlier this  month here.

The event was a project of the Quiz Bee Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Education and the local government unit of Ifugao in support  to the government’s continuing objective of strengthening education by promoting academic excellence covering Philippine History, Mathematics and Science and Technology.
Open  to elementary and secondary students currently enrolled in public schools, the Quiz Bee is a venue to bring together the brightest young minds in the elementary and secondary levels where they can compete and bring to the forefront the academically-challenged students who belongs to the cream of the crop of the public education system.
According to Schools Division Supervisor Marciana Aydinan who helped administered the activity, the  contest category  are Philippine History and Mathematics for the elementary level and Science and Technology for the secondary level.
First Place in Mathematics in the elementary level was John Ralph Habbiling of Lagawe Schools District coached by Kanet kikigue; Christine Julie Pindug of Banaue, 2nd  place coached by Joseph Alindayo and Liezl Monique Dulnuan of Kiangan, 3rd  coached by Madeleine Camhol.
In Philippine History elementary level, Kathleen Yadan of Alfonso Lista coached by Ponciana Petines won first place with Cheska Mae Biwit also of Alfonso Lista  coached by Noli Salviejo  in second place.  Vivienne Buyayo of Hungduan  landed third. Her coach  was Crisanta Martillano.
For the secondary level Science and Technology Quiz Bee, the following were the winners:  Jeriel Tuguinay of the Ifugao Provincial Science High School and  coached by Jenny Bartolome, 1st;  Joan Santos of Mayoyao with coach Angie Iblahan, 2nd; and  Carla Mae Daen of Gohang National High School of Banaue,  coached by Dominador Batton, 3rd.
The winners will represent the province in the Regional Eliminations for the Cordillera Region next month.(DBC/PIA-Ifugao)
