PCSO to open provincial office in Tuao,Cagayan

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Director Mabel Mamba informed that the state-run charity will open this year a provincial PCSO office at Tuao, Cagayan to serve the provinces of Cagayan, Kalinga and Apayao.
“Maybe by September this year, it will be established in Tuao, Cagayan to bring closer PCSO services to the people,” she said adding this will be a one time service where those in need can seek assistance.
She said the office is yet to organize its organic staff, however the local government of Tuao through the municipal social welfare and health offices are processing papers of those seeking assistance for action by the PCSO central office.
“The PCSO provincial office in Cauayan is too far to reach. Indigents coming from the far north of Cagayan, the provinces of Apayao and Kalinga seeking assistance could not help but end up unattended because of the far distance,” she said.
Mamba said the present officers of PCSO continue to look on measures on how to improve the services of the charity office. “The PCSO Board in compliance to the order of President Aquino is introducing changes particularly on how to systematize disbursement and where to put more assistance,” she stressed.
The present PCSO Chairman, she said, is pushing for reforms so that charity funds go to whom they are really intended.
