Police report for september 29

Several arrests were made by personnel of Baguio City Police Office on separate occasions in the city.  A case of Alleged theft (snatching) transpired at about 7:50 PM of September 29, 2010 along Bonifacio St- Holy Ghost Proper near Data Center College of the Philippines.  The victim was identified as Sylvia Mararac y Seguin, 19 years old, single from Basista, Pangasinan, vendor and resident of Brookspoint, Aurora Hill.  Personnel of Station 3 were able to arrest the 15 year old male suspect, a resident of Apugan, Irisan, Baguio City with the help of Chief Barangay Tanod Jessie Lawagan of Holy Ghost Proper.  Follow-up operation resulted to the arrest of Brent Balacdao y Austria, 21 years old, waiter, native of Tuba, Benguet and resident of Beleng, Tuding, Itogon, Benguet and two minor companions.  The victim’s cellular phone, an LG CEO168 worth four thousand seven hundred pesos (P4,700.00) was recovered from Balacdao including seizure of suspected marijuana leaves found in the right front pocket of his pants with undetermined DDB value yet.

          A case of frustrated Homicide transpired at Brookspoint, Aurora Hill on the complaint of Christopher Casopanan y Lowican, 27 years old, college graduate, resident of the above mentioned place against one Mark Anthony Urmenita y Bosas, 21 years old, single, dispatcher, native of San Juan, abra and presently residing at Brookspoint, Aurora Hill, Baguio City.  Investigation disclosed that at about 11:40 PM of September 29, 2010 at the above mentioned place, the suspect stabbed the vicitim with a broken bottle wherein the victim sustained one penetrating stab wound measuring about two centimeters deep at the left interior accelary line at level with umbilicus.  Responding officers brought the victim to SLU hospital while the suspect was in the custody of Station 6 prior to filing of the case.

          Meanwhile, personnel of Station 7 arrested Glen Suguitan Cadis, 45 years old, native of Bentar, Ilocos Norte and resident of San Carlos Heights for a case of Violation of RA 9262 and Malicious Mischief committed at about 1:30 AM of September 29, 2010 along Block 4, Crystal Market, Hilltop on complaint of Isabela O. Batanes, 45 years old, single, businesswoman, native of San Gabriel, La Union and resident of Tacay Road, Tam-awan Village, Quezon Hill, Baguio City. Investigation revealed that the suspect who was a former live-in partner of the victim, went to the rented stall of the victim demanding Batanes to let him enter said stall but was denied.  Cadis got irked and uttered unsavory and threatening words to the victim.  He then destroyed the door and kills two of her chicken livestock amounting to P3,500.00. the victim was able to seek police assistance which resulted to the arrest of the suspect.

          Further, one Charlie Agpaoa, 20 years old, single, native of Mankayan Benguet and resident of Hillside, Baguio City was arrested for Theft (pickpocket) on complaint of Jessica Sofronio, 20 years old, single, native of Samar and resides at Lower Cabinet Hill.  Investigation revealed that the victim together with a female companion were walking along the aforesaid address when she felt somebody tap the right side pocket of her jacket where she put her Nokia 1100 cell phone.  When she glanced, she saw the suspect holding said item and immediately handed it back when she was about to accost the suspect. The suspect ran towards Diego Silang St but was chased by the complainants and concerned citizens leading to his arrest.  He was turned over to Compac 4  for proper disposition.

          At about 5:15 PM of September 29, 2010, operatives of CAID-SOTG, BCPO  conducted buy bust operation along Rizal Park, Baguio City and successfully executed the arrest of two suspects identified as Francisco Maramba y Dumawal, 43 years old, single, vendor native of Calamaniogan, Cagayan and his half brother Kaets Maramba y Luna, 38 years old, married, vendor native of Urdaneta, Pangasinan and both presently residing at Km 5, Asin Road, Baguio City.  The poseur buyer was able to buy one (1) brick form of suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops weighing approximately 750 grams worth P2000,00 from Francisco Maramba.  They were also able to confiscate one (1) piece of small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops weighing approximately 8.38 grams from Kaets Maramba. Confiscated items were brought to Crime Lab in Camp Dangwa for chemical analysis.  A case of Violation of Article II, Sec 5 and 11 of RA 9165 was filed at the Prosecutor’s Office.
