Recruitment of PDEA agents now open

BAGUIO CITY,  (PIA) - - Application for Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) Drug Law Enforcement Officers/agent, is now open.

PDEA Cordillera Regional Director Ronald Allan Ricardo, in a statement, discloses that the application is open to all physically fit, 21 to 35 years old, male and female, who are least five feet and two inches in height - for male, and five feet for female. A height waiver from the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) is also accepted, if applicant is an IP and under the height requirement. 
 
Applicant must also be a holder of a baccalaureate course and a Civil Service Commission (CSC) Career Service Professional Examination passer or certified for such qualification by CSC, under special laws, Ricardo added.
 
He also advises that possible applicants must have the passion to fight the dangerous/illegal drug menace in our society and willing to undergo a six-month rigid training at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite, as well as to be assigned anywhere in the Philippines.
 
For Cordillera, applications forms are available and must be personally submitted by applicants at the PDEA regional office in Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet. Application forms can also be downloaded from the PDEA’s website at www.pdea.gov.ph.
 
The PDEA Academy will evaluate the applicants who shall to take the Qualifying Examination (QE). Those who will pass the QE shall undergo Neuro Psychological Test, wherein those who will qualify will then undergo Medical Examination, background check and a panel interview.
 
Here in Cordillera, currently there are 40 agents assigned in five clusters: 14 agents for 2 clusters here in Baguio Benguet area, seven agents for Abra-Apayao, eight agents in Kalinga - Mt. Province – Ifugao cluster and five for the Quick Reaction force, and the others in  assigned in the operations division of the Cordillera regional office. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
